yGiving long-term appreciated stock offers you a two-fold tax savings. First, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of your stock. In addition, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift. For example, If you purchased stock many years ago for $1,000 and it is now worth $10,000, an out-right gift of that stock to HIS would result in a charitable contribution of $10,000. In addition, you permanently avoid paying capital gains tax on the $9,000 of appreciation.
Charitable Remainder Trust - CRT is a giving tool that allows you to transfer appreciated assets into the trust, avoid taxes on the sale of the assets, and receive an immediate income tax deduction.
Charitable Gift Annuity - A CGA is a simple concept - part charitable gift, part annuity. Funded by your contribution, the CGA provides fixed annuity payments to you for life and a gift to the charity (HIS). A portion of your contribution is tax-deductible, and a portion of your annuity is tax-free. If you wish, you can have the annuity payments go to a family member or friend instead.
Bequests - While you're considering your income tax savings, this may be a good time to consider long-term tax savings. The federal estate tax can still take approximately 50% of one's estate at the time of death. That's a higher tax bite than the income tax! It definitely pays to do some advance planning with your attorney and other professional advisors.

You can help Health Intervention Services sustain the 750 patient visits we see in a month, and provide means for us to treat even more.

Volunteer. We need regular, consistent volunteers who are eager to use their time and skills to better HIS. If HIS’ mission inspires you, please give us a shout by phone, email, or mail, and we’ll see how you can get involved.

Pray. Your regular prayers accomplish much more than you may know. God is listening, and we tell others often about patients’ healing; doctor’s guidance; and surprise financial blessings.

Sacrifice. Your gifts to us are foundational to this organization. We do not rely on the government or any large organization to sustain our services, rather it is through the generosity of individuals, churches, foundations, and small local organizations that we can provide these services. Your gifts equip us to serve our Grand Rapids neighbors with quality medical & dental attention, spiritual care, and mental health counseling.

HIS partners with West Michigan Christian Foundation (WMCF) (http://www.wmcfoundation.org/) who is part of a nationwide network of local Christian Foundations that are affiliated with the National Christian Foundation (NCF) in the area of charitable giving. Since 1982, this network has helped thousands of people like you give more than $1 billion to the work of God's kingdom. WMCF can accept nearly any type of gift.
